As part of Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Maximus has provided a 2500 litres water tank in Anudanit Aadivasi Ashram Shala, Murbad, Maharashtra to benefit the teachers and 700+ students studying there.
This school had no running water supply and the students had to walk up to the stream running in front of the school and fill up small bottles. They were drinking this water from stream with no purification done on the water, thus exposing them to many health problems.
NGO Aadhar Shiv Pratishtan, Mumbai in which one of our colleague Ms.Archu Hadawale is a founder member, discussed this problem of the school with the management of Maximus. This NGO is teaching the students during week-ends to help them perform better.
Maximus co-ordinated with Watsan, Chennai headed by Chandrasekaran Jayaraman, the award-winning water purification solution providers, by installing 2500 litre Water tank in the school premises. Water gets pumped in from the stream into this water tank. Watsan’s process implemented in this tank purifies the water and distributes the water through tap.
Now the students of the school and the teachers enjoy purified water that too within the premises. No longer they have to restrict the need for water or walk up to the stream to get drinking water.
Maximus is thankful to the school authorities and to the NGO for giving us this opportunity to serve the Adivaasi students of this school. Maximus is thankful for getting an opportunity to serve the people of the State where it is functioning for the last 10years.
